3 Rescued After Boat Catches Fire on Gardiner’s Bay

The East Hampton Star reports that Good Samaritans rescued 3 people whose 28’ Formula inboard caught fire in Gardiner’s Bay, NY, on Friday afternoon, June 9.

PWC riders picked up the boaters and brought them to shore before emergency responders could arrive and douse the fire. No injuries were reported.

The fire occurred south of Gardiner’s Island, near Cartwright Island, according to the Coast Guard.
