Cape Cod Times: Forty-four people were rescued off the town jetty [May 28] after a high tide cut them off from the shore.

Provincetown Harbormaster Rex McKinsey said the town’s Fire Department initially got a call shortly before 2:00 p.m. about people in the water off the West End breakwater that connects Pilgrims’ First Landing Park to Wood End Light. The mile-long walk is popular among tourists seeking to get a picturesque view of the harbor and Provincetown.
