Audubon Society Urges Congress to Protect LI Sound

New Haven Register: The leaders of the Connecticut and New York chapters of the National Audubon Society called on Congress Thursday (Feb. 23) to reverse proposed environmental cuts, saying President Barack Obama’s budget shortchanges Long Island Sound cleanup.

“Now, more than ever, federal funds are needed for Long Island Sound in Connecticut,” Tom Baptist, executive director for Audubon Connecticut, said in a prepared statement.“Over the years, state investments have outpaced federal funding, and we need the EPA to be an active player in the Sound’s recovery,” Baptist said.
