Bigelow Laboratory to Build New Ocean Health Center

The Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences in Boothbay, Maine, has received a $9.1 million grant from the National Institute of Standards and Technology to build a new Center for Ocean Health on the lab’s East Boothbay campus. The center will conduct research on marine microbial ecosystems and their role in maintaining the health of the oceans.

When completed, the Ocean Science and Education campus will provide over 70,000 square feet of laboratory, education and administrative space.
