Block Island Times: The New Shoreham Harbors Committee was granted approval by the Town Council at its Tuesday, July 5 meeting to pursue a preliminary plan for a welcome center on the eastern shoreline of the Ball O’Brien Park for New Harbor boaters.
The Harbors Committee said construction of the facility would cost an estimated $2.5 million; the majority of which would be funded by state grants. The facility would include a building for bathrooms and showers, a parking area, a harbormasters office, and a dinghy dock.
