Boater Complains About Styrofoam Pollution in Stamford Harbor
December 12, 2014
Stamford Advocate: For a second time, a Stamford [CT] boater has lodged complaints about Harbor Point developer Building and Land Technology polluting Long Island Sound with Styrofoam particles.
On Saturday (Nov. 6), Steven Loeb, a Shippan resident who serves on the city’s Harbor Management Commission, sent an email with 69 photos to city and state officials regarding the scattering of foam pieces in and around Harbor Point. The photos, taken that morning with an iPhone, show white particles floating in the Sound, as well as sprinkled on the ground. In one photo, a small chunk is on the boardwalk.
