The new Boston Whaler 420 Outrage, which debuted at the 2014 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show last fall, is the largest and most advanced Whaler model to date.

The 420 is designed to encourage onboard entertaining by creating “social zones” throughout the boat and offering amenities for a wide range of activities. The expansive bow area features clever backrest configurations that provide 360-degree seating around a large, removable bow table. An optional shade can be easily deployed to cover this area, providing protection from the sun. Another sunshade extends aft of the hardtop to shelter passengers in the cockpit.

The helm area of the 420 can accommodate up to 6 passengers, facing forward, standing or sitting. An actuated captain’s seat and dual forward- or backward-facing companion seat is accompanied by a conversion bench that flips forward when the main action is in the cockpit.

The 420 is powered by quad 300-hp Mercury Verado engines featuring Shadow Mode Technology and Joystick Piloting, all of which combine to  deliver efficient power, precise maneuverability and effortless docking. The helm station’s 3 state-of-the-art Raymarine G Series screens afford seamless command of the boat and superior awareness of its surroundings. The center console design affords easy maneuverability all around the boat, while the high freeboard provides added safety and peace of mind. And speaking of safety, the boat is unsinkable.

As an Outrage model, the 420 is set up for serious fishing. A well-outfitted leaning post is available in several configurations, including a fish-prep station with large work surfaces, ample gear storage and pressurized live well. There’s also a “Summer Kitchen” option featuring a freshwater sink, refrigerator/freezer, electric grill, storage and more. An optional upper helm station provides a superior vantage point for scanning the ocean or watching the spread. Ample rod holders and under-gunwale rod storage are standard.

The 420’s cabin boasts a whopping 7’ of headroom, ample skylights and eye-level porthole windows. The V-berth features a large dining table that converts to a bed, additional sleeping space to port, a galley and a head. Owners can also choose from 3 interior finish packages.
