Cape Cod Creek Cleared for Herring Return
March 2, 2012
CapeCodOnline: Spawn-happy herring and hungry gulls will have a little more room for their life-and-death tango this spring, thanks to the human muck-masters who cleaned up Stony Brook on Monday.
It’s a simple but slippery concept, and waders are required. Just ask the guy standing in the middle of the creek.
“We’re trying to make sure the stream is clear to make it easier for the fish to get up,” said Chris Miller, director of the Brewster Natural Resources Department.
