Cape Cod Fishermen’s Group Marks 25 Years
August 10, 2016
The Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen’s Alliance, a nonprofit organization based in Chatham, Massachusetts, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, according to an article on CapeCodTimes.com.
From an all-volunteer, unpaid organization of a dozen fishermen, it’s grown to an operation that took in around $2.3 million in grants, donations and dues last year, spent $1.7 million on programs and other expenses, and has 12 paid staff members.
The alliance represents 95 Cape fishermen, including 60 who are full-time, active fishermen. It has grown into one of the most influential grass roots fishing organizations in the region and the country.
