Cape Cod Report: 12.4.12
December 4, 2012
Canal Bait & Tackle of Sagamore posts the following end-of-season report for the waters of Cape Cod.
Saltwater fishing is pretty much over on Cape Cod, although there are still some striped bass in a lot of the local creeks and harbors, such as Scorton, Town Neck, and Barnstable Harbor. Use small, white soft-plastic lures to catch these fish.
There are some large schools of mackerel at the East End of the Canal, and winter flounder are still being caught. Use night crawlers, squid, and clams to catch the latter.
Every pond on Cape Cod has been stocked with brown and rainbow trout. A small number of ponds were also stocked with brook trout and tiger trout. Check the Mass Wildlife website to see which ponds were stocked and with what species by CLICKING HERE.
There will not be any salmon stocked this year.
