CapeCodOnline: A 43-year run selling seafood on the Sandwich waterfront came to an end Monday [November 3].

Joe’s Lobster Mart was forced to shut down at the close of the business day Monday, the result of a court order by a Suffolk Superior Court judge upholding a decision by the state Department of Public Health to revoke owner Joseph Vaudo’s licenses to sell fish.

The judge had given the fish market 14 days to sell off what it could of its remaining stock.
In October, the state public health commissioner ruled Vaudo’s failure to comply with regulations compromised public health. A series of court maneuvers, including an emergency injunction, bought him another month in business.
