Coast Guard crews responded to a ferry that ran aground in Massachusetts’ Lynn Harbor at 8:20 Wednesday night, August 27, 2014.

The ferry Cetacea ran aground about a quarter of a mile from the pier with 13 passengers and four crew members aboard. Coast Guard crews from Station Point Allerton launched a rescue crew aboard a 47’ motor life boat to provide a safety zone and stand by to assist if the situation deteriorated.

High tide was expected to be at 1:00 a.m. The Cetacea was re-floated on the incoming tide and returned to port.
