Champlin’s Marina Expansion Denied

The Rhode Island Superior Court ruled on February 11 against the proposed expansion of Champlin’s Marina into the Great Salt Pond.

The expansion, which was opposed by the Coastal Resources Management Council, the town of New Shoreham, the Conservation Law Foundation, the Committee for the Great Salt Pond, and the Block Island Land Trust, was first proposed in 2003, and would have expanded the marina by approximately four acres.

Champlin’s could appeal the decision at the state level.
