Coast Guard Medevacs Man Near Newport, RI

A Coast Guard Station Castle Hill crew conducted a medevac for a 48-year-old crew member of the cargo ship Cougar Ace some 9 miles south of Newport, Rhode Island, on Thursday, January 29, 2015.
At approximately 3:00 p.m., the crew of the 654′ Cougar Ace notified watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England that a crewmember had suffered an electrical burn to his right hand.
A Station Castle Hill 45′ Response Boat-Medium crew launched and safely brought the injured crewman aboard. He was then transported to EMS personnel. He was taken by ambulance to Newport Hospital in Newport, Rhode Island.
His condition is unknown.
