Coast Guard Scrambles to Aid Canadian Vessel

Cape Cod Today reports that the Coast Guard is coordinating a rescue for a sailboat approximately 1,250 miles southeast of Nantucket.
Watchstanders from the 1st District Command Center received a distress signal from a personal locator beacon at approximately 8:30 a.m. from the 40’ sailing vessel Wacawa, reportedly crewed by 2 Canadians
Wacawa was sailing from Spain to Canada when the vessel ran into foul weather and diverted towards New York.
