Coast Guard Swimmer Saves Capsized Maine Couple

A Coast Guard petty officer probably saved the lives of an elderly couple after their skiff capsized off Southwest Harbor, Maine on Tuesday morning (July 14, 2015), according to an article on PressHerald.com.
Calvin Legge, a Coast Guard-certified surface swimmer, dove into the water near Flynn’s Ledge when he saw the couple struggling in the water. The 86-year-old man and his 82-year-old wife had gotten into a tender and were rowing toward a Coast Guard rescue boat after their 30’ pleasure craft ran aground off Seawall Point.
