Compo Beach Marina Being Dredged

Minuteman News Center reports on the ongoing work in Westport, CT to dredge the Ned Dimes Marina, where boaters in some slips have been unable to enter or exit the marina at low tide. The maintenance project includes buttressing the nearby riprap to prevent further erosion.

The work is being done by FGC Construction at an estimated cost of $450,000. It is being funded by user fees paid by boaters who use the marina.

The town of Westport is also seeking permits for dredging the adjacent channel, which has not been dredged for 20 years.
