Concrete Canoes Compete in Dartmouth, MA

SouthCoastToday: If anyone can make a concrete canoe glide across the water it’s a bunch of civil engineers.

The student chapters of the American Society of Civil Engineers from 11 colleges converged upon Apponagansett Park Saturday [April 27] with their concrete canoes to participate in the New England Regional Concrete Canoe Competition.

The students worked the entire school year on their canoes. The competition also requires they submit design papers and give an oral presentation on the construction before a team of judges.
