Marina owners on Massachusetts’ North Shore say they are being targeted by costly and unfair lawsuits by environmental groups, according to an article on NewburyportNews.com.

Calling it “blackmail,” marina owners say they are being sued over stormwater runoff issues. Most of the business owners threatened with legal action by the environmental groups settle out of court — but not before agreeing to pay tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees and other expenses to resolve the complaints.
