Critics Assail CT Boatyard Plan


At a public hearing on Tuesday night (August 13, 2013), Stamford, Connecticut Planning Board members pressed city officials for more than an hour on a proposed agreement that would grant the rights to more than 2.4 acres of city land on Magee Avenue for use in a new boatyard, in exchange for $5 million in public improvements, according to an article in the Stamford Advocate.

Claire Fishman, a planning board member, was applauded when she said it seemed inappropriate that Building and Land Technology would be allowed to operate a boatyard using city land with tax-free status.
