CT Boaters Warned of Debris in River, Sound

TheDay of Connecticut is reporting that boaters are being urged to use caution on the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound, due to the continuing impact of Tropical Storm Irene including runoff from flooding in Vermont and other areas on the waterways.

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has said that many large logs and other debris remain in the river and the Sound, creating numerous boating hazards.
