June 28, 2014
NHRegister.com: Dozens of supporters greeted Boy Scout Troop 701 and 8 grizzled adults with plenty of food at the end of a 90-mile paddle down the Housatonic River from Massachusetts to Long Island Sound.
The adventurers landed their canoes and kayaks at Walnut Beach amid cheers for a welcome-home picnic Tuesday afternoon [June 24, 2014], an hour ahead of schedule. There were hot dogs, beans, chips, desserts, including a kayak-shaped treat, and lots of water and Gatorade.
