Deaf Maine Lobsterman Changes Perceptions
August 6, 2013
Someone once told Tamber Lewis that his son, Matthew Huron, would never be a lobsterman or drive a lobsterboat because the boy was deaf. But Lewis and Huron set out to prove that wrong.
Today, Huron is a 21-year-old lobsterman with a Cochlear Implant working out of York, Maine. He and Lewis have created the Matthew Huron Cause, which promotes awareness to help both children and young adults who are deaf or hard of hearing with Cochlear Implants.
