Diving with Sharks off Block Island

Block Island Times: Justin Lewis stood in the crow’s nest of the Sea Turtle surveying the ocean through the afternoon glare. The other five of us—part of a shark diving trip that left Block Island Tuesday on the charter boat—sat around the deck below talking and staring out across the water. Then Lewis called out, “There is a shadow circling the bait.”
A shark cage was attached to the back of the boat, rolling with the waves. I lowered myself down to get a better look. As soon as I was in my weight belt came loose and fell to the cage floor.
