Dolphin Visits Block Island

Block Island Times: A special island visitor took advantage of the sunny weather Friday, swimming around Old Harbor for hours. A dolphin appeared in the harbor around 7:00 a.m. and stayed into the afternoon, drawing many visitors to the dock that is still under construction.
Dolphins have been known to enter the Great Salt Pond in the past; however, this is the first time in recent memory that one has visited Old Harbor. During the spring months whales and dolphins travel north as the water begins to warm.
