The Coast Guard suspended the search for a possible person in the water, Monday. June 26, in Plymouth Harbor, MA.

A local fisherman originally spotted an overturned, unmarked 10-foot lime green kayak with a paddle at about 4:00 a.m. and reported it to watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Boston.

Following the report, Coast Guard and local responders searched a 29-square-mile area for over four hours, but did not find anyone.

There are no correlating missing person reports.

Boaters are reminded to label kayaks, canoes, skiffs and paddleboards with identifying information that allow officials to track down the owner and possibly preventing a needless and expensive search.
