The Cranston Herald reports that construction of the Edgewood Yacht Club headquarters, which burned in 2011, in Upper Narragansett Bay is proceeding as planned.

Thirty of the 48 steel piles designed to elevate the 2-story clubhouse above a storm surge have been driven, and welding of the cross-members has started. Construction of the superstructure is expected to start in about 6 weeks. The facility is estimated to cost about $4 million.
