Elderly Man Airlifted from Cruise Ship

September 12, 2010: The Coast Guard issued a report at 7:10 p.m. Sunday night that it was responding to a call regarding an injured 69-year-old man aboard the cruise ship Glory, 170 miles east of Chatham, Mass.

The CG received a call from the ship at around 3:23 p.m. reporting the injury. The air station launched an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter and an HU-25 Falcon jet at around 4:50 p.m. The aircraft were schedule to arrive on scene at around 8 p.m. The man was expected to be taken to Massachusetts General Hospital. No other information regarding the man’s condition was given.
