Empty Kayak Prompts Coast Guard Search in MA
July 22, 2016
The Coast Guard called off its search for a possible missing kayaker of the coast of Cohasset, Massachusetts on Tuesday evening, July 19, 2016, after finding no new evidence suggesting that someone had ended up in the water, according to an article on PatriotLedger.com.
Petty Officer Second Class LaNola Stone said officials decided to end the search, which was prompted by the discovery of an empty kayak in the water Tuesday afternoon, after a Coast Guard helicopter and patrol boat spent more than three hours scanning the water off the Cohasset shoreline without finding anything. She said no one came forward to report someone missing during that time either.
