Event of the Week: 40th St. George River Race

The 40th running of the St. George River Race in Searsmont, Maine, is scheduled for Saturday, March 30. Organized by the Waldo County YMCA, the race begins at the St. George Bridge in Searsmont Village, runs through 3 miles of deadwater, 1 mile of rapids, 2 miles of deadwater and curves with one Class 3 drop.
The race is open to canoes and kayaks, in many classes.
Registration runs from 8:30-10:30 on race day, with the race beginning at 11:00.
Fee: $20 per paddler
