Family Saved from Nantucket Riptide
July 12, 2015
A family vacationing on Nantucket is searching for a mysterious life-saver in orange shorts after their riptide scare on Tuesday was caught on video with a GoPro camera, according to an article on SouthCoastToday.com.
Derrick Johns and his two daughters Erynn and Caitlyn were swimming off Surfside Beach and goofing around when the current started pulling them too far out.
Johns said that the GoPro selfie stick that his daughter Erynn was holding might have helped saved her life. “If not for the GoPro stick, she was cruising past me,” he said. “I grabbed that stick and pulled her towards me and called to my wife.”
