Feds Okay $700 Million for Long Island Beaches

The federal government has approved $700 million to rebuild Long Island’s south shore beaches damaged in Hurricane Sandy.

According to an article in the Easthampton Star, New York representative Tim Bishop announced Tuesday that the federal government would cover 100 percent of the continuing rebuilding of the beaches from Fire Island to Montauk.
