Gloucester Times: After a Commercial Street wharf and a building collapsed into Gloucester Harbor on Friday night, the Coast Guard and the city assistant building inspector were on scene to assess the damage Saturday morning.

The entire site was blocked off by a metal gate with a handwritten cardboard sign that said, “Dangerous. Do Not Enter. Perrine Construction employees only.” Across from the dock was an artist, painting a picture of the glorious wreck.

Perrine Construction Company employees were on site, waiting for the Coast Guard to clear before beginning their work of removing everything from inside the building and peeling off the “skin” — the building’s aluminum siding and roofing.
