Greenwich, CT, Harbormaster Makes Waves
March 15, 2013
GreenwichTime.com: Well-known in sailing and boating circles, but little known to the general public, town resident Ian MacMillan became a newsmaker in 2012 when he insisted on following his duties as the town’s state-appointed harbor master, despite colliding with the newly created Harbor Management Advisory Committee (HMAC) and the Board of Selectmen.
MacMillan, who was appointed December 14, 2011, by Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, says he is paid $525 per year for serving in the position. He serves a 3-year term that can be renewed.
