Greenwich Harbor, CT, Dredging Plan Takes Shape
January 11, 2012
Greenwich Time: Greenwich Harbor hasn’t been dredged since 1968, but the federal government will be taking the first steps in the next few weeks to remove silt from the busy channel.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin sampling and testing the material clogging the harbor this month or next. The nearly $500,000 federally funded study will determine how clean the sediment is and where it can be disposed.
