Group Removes Old Pilings from Narragansett Bay

ecoRI.com reports on the efforts of a Clean Bays, a non-profit group that is set on removing the thousands of old “legacy” pilings that serve as hazards to navigation in Upper Narragansett Bay.

The group has enlisted the services of the Deadhead Lumber Co., which cuts off the pilings close to the bottom with a submersible chainsaw device called the Aqualogger.
