Cape Cod Times: The day before the election, Harbormaster John Rendon worried if voters had gotten the message.

But on Tuesday, voters showed they had heard Rendon’s plea loud and clear, approving a $7 million overhaul of the town marina by a margin of 1,157 in favor of the project to 352 opposed. Just 15% of registered voters, 1,566 in all, showed up for the town election.

The town’s marina was in need of a big overhaul. Slips needed dredging; pilings, electrical, water and fire-suppression systems needed to be replaced. The town also needed a handicap-accessible ramp system and new floating docks.
