Harwich Revises Saquetucket Harbor Improvement Plans
April 6, 2017
The Saquetucket Harbor rehabilitation project in Harwich, MA, has been scaled back, according to the Cape Cod Times.
Among the changes are the elimination of plans for a 60-seat restaurant in favor of a snack shack serving only takeout food. Also, a 1,000-square-foot ticket office has been reduced to an 8-by-12-foot shed.
The revised project still includes plans for a larger harbormaster’s office with public restrooms and new facilities for boaters. A total of 87 new parking spaces will be also created, with a pervious surface designed to control stormwater runoff.
