Hyannis Harbor Dredging to Begin June 21

The Inquirer and Mirror: Congressman Bill Keating announced today that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will dredge Hyannis Harbor between June 21 and July 3 [2013].

Silting of the channel leading into the harbor caused by Hurricane Sandy and subsequent storms has prevented Steamship Authority car ferries headed to and from Nantucket and other vessels with deep drafts from entering the harbor during extreme low tides for several months.
