Iconic CT Lighthouse Sold at Auction

The iconic lighthouse on some Connecticut license plates has been sold in an online auction, according to an article on StamfordAdvocate.com.
The Saybrook Breakwater Light off the coast of Old Saybrook reportedly went for $290,000. The idenity of the buyer has not yet been released by the General Services Administration that runs the sale of lighthouses for the government.
The 127-year old lighthouse is pictured on the state’s Save the Sound license plates.
