Intoxicated Boater Arrested in Wareham, MA

A 70-year-old boater was arrested in Wareham, MA, for drunken boating early Monday, July 16, police said.

Around 8:45 a.m., officers responded to the area of Besse Park on the Wareham River due to a report of an intoxicated man in a boat. Officers Karl Baptiste and Richard Robidoux encountered Richard Lepage of Douglas, who displayed a confrontational attitude, according to police.

When the officer noticed a handgun on the console, Lepage became hostile, screaming at the police to get off his boat.

Lepage was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
