Jamestown, RI, Fuel Dock Will Not Open in 2018

According to the Jamestown Press, there will be no fuel on the Jamestown, RI, waterfront this boating season pending replacement of the fuel tanks used by Conanicut Marina.

The tanks were installed under Veterans Memorial Square at East Ferry in 1977, but must now be replaced as per state law. However, installation of the new tanks can only take place between November and March. The lack of fuel is expected to affect business at the marina, which service a lot of transient vessels.
