TARTAN MARINE COMPANY HAS ANNOUNCED THE DEBUT OF THE LEGACY 36. THE GRACEFUL DOWN EAST-STYLE CRUISER COMBINES CLASSIC LINES WITH MODERN FEATURES AND CONVENIENCES. IT’S AVAILABLE IN 3 DIFFERENT LAYOUTS TO SUIT A VARIETY OF TASTES, ALL FEATURING HIGH-END FINISH WORK.

The 36’s hull features wide chines and centerline flats to help it plane at low speeds and boost efficiency at running speeds. The sharp entry slices through rough seas, keeping the occupants dry and comfortable. The all-composite hull and deck are built using a vacuum-infusion process to produce a boat that’s light and fuel-efficient yet strong.

The helm features a pair of adjustable pedestal chairs, while the console offers ample space for electronics and gauges, adjacent to a tilting, wood-rimmed stainless steel wheel. To port is a navigation table complete with pull-out laptop or tablet drawer. The helm is incorporated into the enclosed helm deck, which offers superb visibility, direct access to the belowdeck accommodations and excellent ventilation. The aft end of the helm deck is enclosed by curved plexiglass panels and a Sapelle-framed sliding door.

The 3 interior layouts feature either a belowdeck galley with 2 large helm deck salon settees, or a galley-up option with a choice of a belowdeck “L”-shaped settee or a second private berth. All of the interiors feature a private cabin forward with a large, queen-size island berth with ample storage in drawers, hanging lockers and shelved lockers. The head to starboard contains a sink and full stall shower.

Moving aft, the cockpit features a large, cushioned lounge along the transom, side-boarding access doors, and molded cockpit-corner seats with storage below.

Standard power is a Cummins QSB 6.7 480-hp electronically controlled diesel. The prop and shaft are well protected by a keel/skeg that includes a cast bronze strut between the end of the skeg and the rudder tip.
