Long Island North Shore Fishing Forecast for June
June 16, 2014
NorthShoreofLongIsland.com’s Angelo Peluso writes of some exciting June fishing prospects in Long Island Sound, among them good action with fluke, scup and blues. Here’s an excerpt:
Happy days are here for Long Island’s North Shore anglers who enjoy fishing for summer flounder, also called fluke. The season began in May and their availability will continue to build throughout June. Anglers will have somewhat of a better opportunity for keepers this year with a New York State Department of Environmental Conservation 18”, 5-fish bag limit. The central section of the North Shore is a perennial hot spot for summer flounder, especially those inshore locations in and around shoals and along nearshore areas with sandy bottoms.
