Massachusetts recently awarded $13.2 million in grants and loans to help improve shoreline infrastructure, rehabilitate dams, and protect drinking-water supplies and economic assets in coastal communities, according to an article on EcoRI.org.

The coastal infrastructure projects will help protect key public assets such as business districts, water and sewer systems, and critical transportation routes for emergency services. The dam projects will repair structures that are significant hazards.
