Massachusetts permit holders eligible for a portion of the $6.3 million in direct fishery disaster assistance need to become state vendors before they can receive their share of the disaster assistance funds, according to an article on GloucesterTimes.com.

Those permit holders who are eligible for the checks that will total $32,500 per permit already should have been notified of their eligibility in letters from NOAA and also should have received the necessary form from the state Division of Marine Fisheries to become a state vendor.
