MA Lobstermen Get Reprieve on Winter Fishing Ban

Patriot Ledger: A new ban on lobster and pot fishing has been delayed one month, Beth Casoni, executive director of the Massachusetts Lobstermen’s Association, said Friday.

The Scituate-based group has been waiting to hear if a plea to delay a newly proposed closure—which would have run Jan. 1 to April 30—since Oct. 1, when Casoni joined NOAA Fisheries in a webinar on the topic. The webinar focused on the proposed closure period.
