Maine Dog Rescued from Ice Floe

A dog – ironically named ‘Hero’ – was saved by firefighters Sunday night (February 15, 2015) after it became trapped on an ice floe in Southwest Harbor, Maine.

According to an article on MDIslander.com, firefighters were called shortly after midnight when the dog was spotted roughly 100 yards offshore. Firefighters donned cold water rescue suits and headed onto the ice.
