Maine’s Artisan Boatworks Expands Facility

Knox Village Soup: Since establishing Artisan Boatworks 15 years ago [in Rockport, Maine], Alec Brainerd and his staff have carved out a niche restoring and caring for wooden boats in the Midcoast. On Nov. 10 Brainerd and his staff celebrated the construction of 2 new buildings at the Main Street facility, which will expand their ability to paint and maintain wooden vessels for years to come.

The new buildings at Artisan are a 5,800-square-foot storage building, one of three on the site, and a 1,600-square-foot paint shop, bringing the total building footprint at the Main Street boatyard to approximately 21,000 square feet.
