Man Burned in Engine Fire at Marina in Provincetown, MA
June 30, 2014
CapeCodOnline: A Watertown man was flown to a Boston hospital with serious burns Saturday after an explosive but short-lived fire onboard a boat docked at Provincetown Marina.
Joseph Pasciscia, the owner of the 36-foot boat named Two Buoys III, said Sunday that the fire was caused by a backfire in the carburetor and that his friend, David Johanson, 58, received first- and second-degree burns on his arms, hands, neck and one leg.
The men were working on the engine at the time and the blowback from the fire mostly flashed back on Johanson, Pasciscia said.
